Offer of services
The Accompagnement des Femmes Immigrantes de l’Outaouais (AFIO), a regional non-profit community organization, has been serving immigrant women since 1984 and meets the needs of these women in order to allow them to integrate harmoniously into the host society.
Main services:
- Presentation of the first steps of integration
- Certification of documents
- Part-time french classes
- Psychosocial support
- Support of social integration
- Placement of children in subsidized daycare
- Provision of snowsuits for children from low-income families
Some examples of projects we are working on :
- Espace parent (parents’ space) :
Exchange workshops for immigrant families to successfully integrate into Canada with their children - Presentation of the products of immigrant women entrepreneurs
- We are developing workshops for women entrepreneurs so that they can learn to develop their products in a professional way and become autonomous and independent
- Selectional of exceptional women for the Excelor Gala with the Gatineau Chamber of Commerce
- Production of television programs on immigration topics
- Organization of coffee meetings
- Annual celebration of International Women’s Rights Day
Target customers
Our services are offered to all immigrant women in the Outaouais region, as well as their families.
We also provide our services to anyone wishing to settle in Canada in the Outaouais region.
We have people on the team who speak English, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese.
